Margie joined St. Pete Catalyst, an online business news publication, in September 2018. She is the Finance Editor, reporting and writing news stories about businesses in the Tampa Bay area. She is especially interested in companies in St. Petersburg and in startups and technology companies. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism and started her journalism career as a radio news reporter in St. Louis, focused on politics and government. Her interest in business led to a reporting job at the St. Louis Business Journal. In 2003, she and her husband moved to St. Petersburg and she took an entrepreneurial detour to run an ice cream shop in Treasure Island with her husband. She returned to business news reporting in 2004, joining the Tampa Bay Business Journal. She was Finance Editor at TBBJ before leaving that publication in September 2018 for St. Pete Catalyst.
