Tampa has become the place to come for some great food. Not only are we recognized as the origin of the Cuban sandwich, but as a foodie destination, we have thrived in the past few years with such places as Rooster and the Till, Ulele, Armature Works, and Sparkman Wharf. The Food and Beverage track at Tampa Bay Startup Week is all about those entrepreneurs who are looking to bring their particular style of food to the masses by opening their own restaurant. We’ll teach you about restaurant marketing, social media, reviews and more. You’re the one with the great recipes, we’re the ones who can help you turn them into a business! We spoke to our track captain, Melissa Santell, about what she’s excited about for this track and here’s what she had to say:

As a food and beverage marketer, writer and avid lover of dreaming above the clouds, I couldn’t be more excited to lead Tampa Bay Startup Week’s Food and Beverage tracks. Tampa is the best place for entrepreneurs to be right now. Every person in our city has the ability to foster its growth and evolve along with it. Welcome to the magic of Startup Week!

I can’t wait to give attendees a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of culinary trail blazers like Ferrell Alvarez. This is an incredible opportunity to learn from the stories of local restaurateurs, their challenges and industry keys to success. It’s an exciting time to be part of the industry in Tampa Bay!

And she’s not the only one pumped to be a part of Startup Wek, here’s Chef Ferrell Alvarez, of Rooster & the Till:

I’m excited to be a part of TBSUW to share my story and hopefully inspire someone to do their own thing as well so Tampa continues to grow and shine!
